Subject matter: Recruitment dispute.

The Appellant Prof. Bizuru Elias appeals against the whole decision of the First Instance Division delivered on 28th September 2020 in Reference No. 13 of 2017 Prof. Elias Bizuru vs Inter-University Council of East Africa on grounds that, the trial court erred in law and facts in finding the Respondent decision of not appointing the Appellant to the position of Chief Research and Innovation Coordination Officer was not an infringement of transparency and good governance in the recruitment process as provided under Article 6(d) of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community and erred in awarding costs to the Respondent who is the sole cause of the litigation.

The Appellant therefore seek for orders that, the Respondent decision of not appointing him to the position of Chief Research and Innovation Coordination Officer is an infringement of the Treaty, the same be nullified and order be issued appointing him to the disputed position plus costs.
