REFERENCE NO. 20 OF 2020 ROBERT SEVENI KITTA & 3 OTHERS v. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH SUDAN

The Applicants allege that having been internally displaced within South Sudan following the civil war of the year 2013 the Government of the Republic of South Sudan took advantage of the said war and in their absence expropriated their land and transferred the same to United Nations Mission in South Sudan without compensation and consent. That the United Nations Mission in South Sudan acquired the suit land fraudulently from the Government of South Sudan. The Applicants allege that the said actions are in contravention the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights and the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community
