REFERENCE NO. 34 OF 2021 MALE H. MABIRIZI K. KIWANUKA v. THE ATTORNEY OF THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA

The Applicant alleges that directives of the Respondents contained in letters by the President dated 15^th May, 13^th , 21^st and 29^th June 2021 regarding financing of projects that include security and construction of roads; the Parliament’s approval of appointments of Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State without a record of their academic qualifications are unlawful and amount to infringements on the fundamental and operational principles of the Community as guaranteed under Articles 6(d) and 7(2) of the Treaty for the Establishment of the East African Community.
